The Roundhouse is commissioning Grammy Award-winning artist Imogen Heap to create an extraordinary show involving sound, light and interactive video technology.
Imogen has developed musical gloves, unveiled at TEDGlobal in 2011. Using only hand gestures, she is able to record and loop her voice, play virtual instruments and manipulate these sounds live. The performance will take place within an amazing interactive visual environment with images sent from audience member’s mobile devices interacting with the music in an incredible physical manifestation of sound. As well as new and improvised work, the show will also include a section of Imogen’s best loved songs performed with her band.
For each show Imogen will collaborate with local artists to create new works to be included in the performance.
This will be an astonishing production, fusing music and image in a unique way and allowing the public to be involved in the very heart of it’s creation.
