ISPA 2026 Singapore Congress - Open City
Same Same, And Different

Open City

For one afternoon, 27 artists and arts groups open their doors.

Open City unfolds across Goodman Arts Centre, Stamford Arts Centre and the Waterloo Arts Belt, and Aliwal Arts Centre and Kampong Gelam. The programme moves along three distinct paths through a series of working spaces, where artists share their practices in situ and offer a closer look at how work comes together.

Encounters range from dance and music collaborations at Stamford Arts Centre to puppet demonstrations at Goodman Arts Centre, alongside site-specific works at Aliwal Arts Centre that bring together movement, sound and technology.

The afternoon begins with a shared meal. Geni Singapore works across regional Malay cooking; Ahimsa Sanctuary serves plant-based dishes guided by Ayurvedic principles; Eight Treasures draws on Chinese vegetarian traditions, with familiar flavours reworked for the table.

From there, the route continues through studios, rehearsal rooms and the spaces in between, bringing visitors into the environments where ideas take shape. Each encounter presents a different approach to practice.

From wherever you stand, whether Singapore is home or elsewhere, Open City welcomes you.

Open City is available to registered Congress delegates. Places are limited, with RSVP closing on 19 May. Please note that the Aliwal Arts Centre and Kampong Gelam route does not have wheelchair access.
