The Captured City Project is a project leading up to a new creation for six dancers and actors by internationally renowned Swedish choreographer Örjan Andersson for his project company Andersson Dance, based in Stockholm. In 2014 Örjan Andersson wishes to pursue the relationship once again between time and space in relation to urban environments that in which nature is taking over. With a continuous focus on the relationship between body, space and time our new creation explores notions of sustainability and ecology in deserted urban contexts in the wake of both environmental damage and economic crisis. What happens when nature tries to take back the spaces it was once pushed out of? Can time be reverted in terms of who owns space and thus the places we live in? Through research, traveling and ongoing dialogue we will create a work for larger stages in the fall of 2014 in a mix of movement, various sources of text and newly composed music.
