A Dog without Feathers is a poignant geographic poem by João Cabral about the Capibaribe River that springs in an arid region and flows to the hectic city of Recife. The company undertook a 3wk creative & cultural development in this harsh region in Nov’16. Now they are bringing the poem to life through a synthesis of dance, ballet & cinema. Staging the mud, beauty, the richness, poverty, the pop, the classic, the mangroves & crabs, the current and the rhythms of the people that reside & rely on the river for life. Live music will be a major element, exposing the regions Manguebeat movement. A rhythm that comes from an ongoing reaction to the cultural and economical stagnation of the area.
