So Percussion (Josh Quillen, Adam Sliwinski, Jason Treuting, and Eric Cha-Beach), Amber Film & Photography (Sirkka-Liisa Konttinen, Graeme Rigby, Ellin Hare)
From Out A Darker Sea is a performance fusing visual art, music and film in a live event created in response to an area’s coal-mining heritage and coastal location. So Percussion has worked in collaboration with the mining community of East Durham to create the performance, bringing a fresh perspective on people and place: combining intergenerational memories and aspirations with the artists’ own influences and experiences. The piece is presented in four parts and features a commissioned film made in collaboration with Amber Films. In 2017, From Out A Darker Sea will tour throughout the UK in sacred spaces connected to industrial heritage.
