BANDALOOP activates public spaces and communities by defying traditional definitions of dance, sparking imagination and challenging what is possible. “Strings” is an indoor vertical dance performance combined with a site-specific outdoor activation, commissioned by University of Washington, Meany Hall. Featuring an original score by acclaimed London-based composer and DJ Gabriel Prokofiev, the piece explores the human condition and the innate sensibilities we share. Through eloquent movement and dynamic, inter-dependent rigging systems, the rope becomes a character in the piece, exploring our connections and the ways people anchor to, connect with, effect, restrain and release one another.
