English Self-taught, recipient of the Universidad Veracruzana’s Merit Medal, he’s a writer, poet, journalist, book editor – mainly of indigenous languages -, advisor on indigenous issues, and television, radio and theater producer. As a poet, he has published various works, with Xolo and Tlajpiajketl o La Canción del Maíz featuring among his most famous. As a journalist, he was awarded the National Journalism Prize by the Mexican Press Club, and received various honorary mentions in radio and television journalism contests, notably the Gilberto Rincón Gallardo National Journalism Award –Faces of Discrimination (2009 and 2011), awarded by the National Council to Prevent Discrimination (Consejo Nacional para Prevenir la Discriminación, CONAPRED) and the Human Rights Commission of Mexico City (Comisión de Derechos Humanos del Distrito Federal, CDHDF) along with the “Manuel Buendía” Foundation.

Español Autodidacta, Medalla al Mérito por la Universidad Veracruzana, es escritor, poeta, periodista, editor de libros —mayoritariamente en lenguas indígenas—, asesor sobre temas indígenas, productor de televisión, teatro y radio. Como poeta ha publicado varios títulos, siendo Xolo y Tlajpiajketl o La Canción del Maíz los más conocidos. Como periodista obtuvo el Premio Nacional de Periodismo otorgado por el Club de Periodistas de México, así como distintas menciones honoríficas en certámenes periodísticos de radio y televisión, destacando el Premio Nacional de Periodismo Gilberto Rincón Gallardo- Rostros de la Discriminación (2009 y 2011), que otorgan el Consejo Nacional para Prevenir la Discriminación (CONAPRED) y la Comisión de Derechos Humanos del Distrito Federal (CDHDF) en conjunto con la Fundación “Manuel Buendía”.
