Monon Muntaka is a visual artist based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. She is a self-taught artist. Her practices deal with social issues, culture, women, gender and documentation of these in relation. Apart from photography, she takes a keen interest in documentary films and video art. As a visual storyteller, her leading medias are photography, moving images, different printmaking techniques texts and audio. Initially, as an art enthusiast, she worked several times at Dhaka Art Summit and Chobi Mela as an artist assistant, art mediator, and program coordinator.

Her involvement with diverse multi-talented personalities such as artists, curators, writers, filmmakers, musicians, educators, and scholars played a very stark influence in her life. She was always seeking a medium to talk about things that she faced or related to. The urge of telling stories she found visual medium the most powerful way to express herself. Last year she has done a co-creation project with a British Bangladeshi artist commissioned by British Council, Tara Theater and Britto Art Trust.
