Academy Workshop 2: Lead like an artist: a space for discussion and dreamingWhat does “artist-led” mean? Do you think being an artist and being a leader are the same thing, or are they two completely different hats that it’s impossible to wear at once? Should there be a division between artistic practice and organisational leadership? Is there a disconnect between “the art” and “the business”? In this two-hour workshop we’ll share ideas on what it means to lead as an artist, discuss the challenges faced by organisations and artists in defining leadership roles, and dream about what could be done differently when companies place artistic practice at their heart. Academy Workshop 3: Co-creation and leadership stylesUsing examples of real projects and her background in community arts and participation, Raidene will share her thoughts around cultural leadership styles and the rise of co-creative practices. You will reflect on the importance of identity in co-creation (can anyone co-create with everyone?), equity (is it possible to lead a co-creative process?) and identify your must-have situations, resources and principles for successful co-created projects/artworks.
