Chris Pendergrass is an arts administrator with a decade of experience in artistic planning, project management, and community engagement. As Artistic Planning Manager at Carolina Performing Arts (CPA), he supports programming and budget management for a dynamic season of multi-disciplinary performances and associated campus and community collaborations at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His work is motivated by the adamant affirmation of the arts as imperative for understanding and expressing our world and how we relate to each other in it. Chris holds a B.M. in Music with a second major in Communication Studies from UNC-Chapel Hill. He received a 2023 UNC Peer Recognition Award for his contributions to CPA’s production of Rhiannon Giddens’ and Michael Abels’ Pulitzer Prize-winning opera, Omar. Chris also serves as staff advisor to the undergraduate literary and arts fraternity and maintains close ties with his high school band program in Greensboro, NC.
