Virginia Antonipillai

Creative Producer & Operations Manager | Mammalian Diving Reflex
Canada

Virginia Antonipillai is a Tkaronto/Toronto based artist and the Creative Producer & Operations Manager at Mammalian Diving Reflex. She joined the company in 2010 at the age of 14 as a Project Coordinator on Nightwalks with Teenagers in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. In the years since, she has grown from a core member of the Young Mammals into one of Mammalian's creative leads, touring to more than a dozen countries to produce, direct and facilitate workshops on youth engagement and socially-engaged practice. As one of the original crew from Toronto's Parkdale neighbourhood, Virginia was central to Mammalian's succession strategy, focused on diversifying the cultural sector with young creators of colour. She is currently producing Mammalian Droppings, a new pilot-project that tests an international young creators ensemble and production model, in order to diversify leadership roles and test an environmentally responsible model for the creation and sharing of work internationally.
