Sarah Holcman

Executive & Artistic Director | The Choreographic Institute
Israel

Sarah Holcman is a dance artist, arts manager, curator, and producer in contemporary dance based in Tel Aviv-Yafo. She is a founder and the artistic and executive director of The Choreographic Institute and serves as artistic advisor to Palestinian choreographer Sahar Damoni. Sarah has worked with contemporary dance institutions for almost 20 years including Movement Research and Gibney (NYC). From 2015–2022, she served as the Director of Programs and International Relations at the Suzanne Dellal Centre for Dance in Tel Aviv where she directed International Exposure, the annual platform for contemporary dance in Israel; and initiated the Centre's first residencies. In 2022, Sarah established The Choreographic Institute with Nitsan Margaliot and Tamar Sonn. The first of its kind in Israel, the Institute works to expand dance and choreographic practices, providing mentorship, accompaniment, and opportunities for artistic research and development for local professional dance artists and the broader field of dance.
