This Google Map has all of the locations marked.

General Information

The Congress kicks off with the Anthony Field Academy on Monday and Tuesday, May 25th and 26th at Malmö Live. The full Congress begins on Wednesday, May 27th; Pitch New Works and ProEx happen on Thursday, May 28th; we head to Denmark on Friday, May 29th; and the Congress concludes on Saturday, May 30th with the Awards Dinner and Dance. Visit the ISPA website for detailed information about each day.

NOTE: For Friday’s events in Denmark, we will travel by bus from Malmö Live to the DR Concert Hall in the morning. There will be a bus that returns to Malmö following the Congress sessions, and a bus that will take delegates to the Harbor Cruise and then the Danish showcase at Dansehallerne and back to Malmö in the evening. All other destinations are on your own.

View the Congress schedule.

Malmö has Goldilocks weather – not too hot and not too cold. The temperature this time of year is generally around 55-65 degrees Fahrenheit (13-18 degrees Celsius) during the day and can get down to around 40 degrees Fahrenheit (5 degrees Celsius) at night. Rain is always a possibility. More weather.

Badges must be visible and worn for admission to all Congress events except for those ticketed events which include the performances on Wednesday night and Awards Dinner and Dance on Saturday. You will receive your badge and applicable tickets when you check in.

Business casual is appropriate for most Congress events; the Awards Dinner attire is business/festive. Comfortable shoes are always recommended – there are several pedestrian routes that are paved with uneven cobblestones and bricks. High heels or other unstable shoes could be hazardous to your ankles!

If you are flying into the Copenhagen airport, our host, in conjunction with sponsor Skånetrafiken, has provided a voucher for a free train transfer from the airport to the Malmö station which is just a short walk from all hotels and the Malmö Live venue. You can print the voucher or show it to the ticket authorities on your phone or tablet. Download the train voucher.

In addition to the train pass for airport transfers, each delegate will get a bus pass when they pick up their Congress badge and registration materials. The bus pass is good for free rides on all Malmö city buses (green buses), Öresund trains (bound for Copenhagen) and Pågatåg commuter trains (within Skåne – southern Sweden). Please note - the pass does not get you into Copenhagen.

Ticketed Performances

There are several opportunities to see performances. For a full listing, visit the ticketed performances page of our Congress website.

NOTE: If you have purchased tickets to performances at any of the Swedish Biennial venues, you may pick up and pay for those tickets at the Malmö Live box office – credit card payments only. If you would like to pay cash for your Biennial tickets, you’ll need to visit one of the other box office locations.

ProEx Participants

ProEx load-in is from 9:30 – 11:30 on Thursday, May 28th. If you are exhibiting, you should have received a confirmation from Ann Pattan regarding the details of the event. If you have not received this email, please contact Ann at your convenience, or stop by the registration desk to inquire.
