Diplomat
and culture manager, film and music producer, publisher. Director of the Adam
Mickiewicz Institute in Warsaw since 2008. Holds an MA in philosophy from the
University of Warsaw, where he also read history. He began his career in public
service in 1992 as President of the Polish Information Agency. Started his
diplomatic service in 1995 as Cultural Consul at the Consulate General of the Republic
of Poland in Los Angeles. Founding director of the Polish Cultural Institute in
New York in 2000, then director of the Polish Cultural Institute in London from
2005. Published extensively in periodicals including Rzeczpospolita, Poland’s second-largest daily newspaper, and the
magazines Tygodnik Powszechny and Brief. In 2013 he published a novel Ludzka rzecz (To Err Is Human).
Dyplomata, menedżer kultury, wydawca, producent filmowy i
muzyczny. Od 2008 r. Dyrektor Instytutu Adama Mickiewicza. Absolwent Wydziału
Filozofii Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego, studiował także na Wydziale Historii UW.
Służbę publiczną rozpoczął w 1992 r. jako Prezes Zarządu Polskiej Agencji Informacyjnej,
a karierę dyplomatyczną jako Konsul do spraw kultury w Konsulacie Generalnym RP
w Los Angeles. W 2000 r. zakładał od podstaw Instytut Kultury Polskiej w Nowym
Jorku jako jego pierwszy dyrektor. W roku 2005 został dyrektorem Instytutu
Polskiego w Londynie. Publikował m.in. w Rzeczpospolitej,
Tygodniku Powszechnym i magazynie Brief.
W roku 2013 wydał powieść "Ludzka rzecz” (wydawnictwo W.A.B).
