Fellowship Participants Deanna SmartSenior Producer, Programming Deanna Smart is the Co-CEO and General Manager at Dancenorth, one of Australia’s leading Contemporary Dance companies based in Townsville, North Queensland. Dancenorth creates original, new work that is presented locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. Parallel to this runs Dancenorth’s education and cultural engagement programs. Deanna leads the company with Artistic Director Kyle Page. She is responsible for the rapid growth of company and increased operational and project income that will support the organisation from 2017-2020. She is also responsible for the diverse repertoire of touring works, building touring networks, nationally and internationally. Deanna oversees the management of the organisation, to ensure its financial viability and strategic plan is realised. Prior to joining Dancenorth, Deanna was a senior Producer at Arts House City of Melbourne, home to Australia’s largest independent arts scene.
