Bryony McIntyre is a founding co-director of Arika (www.arika.org.uk) a political arts organisation concerned with celebrating and supporting connections between artistic production and social change, doing so through a programme of public events called Episodes comprising performances, discussions and collective learning, all archived on their website. She is particularly interested the practice of hosting: how artistic, philosophical and political desires and struggles are mutually manifested in social spaces and experiences.

Arika also collaborate to produce events that support specific struggles in allyship with UK based activists and political groups. International projects have focused on sharing opportunities with allies in New York, with projects hosted by PS1 MoMA, Performance Space New York and the Whitney Museum of American Art. In 2020 Arika received a Turner Bursary which were awarded in place of the Turner Prize, recognising Arika’s work as a whole, and in particular Episode 10: A Means Without End.
