Fellowship Participants Mia ShenFounder and Creative Producer Mia is a creative producer born and raised in China. She was trained in the MFA program in Theatre Management and Producing at Columbia University in NYC. Before moving back to China in 2016, She had worked at Signature Theatre, Lincoln Center Festival, and produced works off-off-Broadway. In 2016-2019, she was Head of the International Producing team in Baiyue, and co-led the development of Wolf Totem with the National Theatre of Great Britain. She was also involved in the West End production of Touching the Void and the Grinning Man. From 2019 to 2021, she associate-produced Deling and Empress Dowager, and produced Once Upon a Time in Fudeli, earning her a Best Producer Nomination at the 5th Chinese Theatre Award. M Theatrical is her new producing endeavor with its mission to explore multidisciplinary collaborations to increase diversity and inclusion in the performing arts industry.
